Q&A

What type of approach to nutrition do you have?

I practice nutrition through what I call the “abundance” approach. This means we look at your lifestyle and see where we can ADD rather than takeaway. This is what I have found to be the most effective long-term approach that helps my clients meet their goals without restrictions. We will work together to create a personal protocol for you to meet your goals and THRIVE in your health. My approach is also closely aligned with the Health at Every Size framework and Intuitive Eating Principles. I help you take a gentle approach to nutrition without the stress of diets or weight loss goals. It is truly amazing what your body can accomplish when you give it the space, respect, and trust that it needs.

What does it look like to work with you?

I practice virtually! Our sessions will be held via my telehealth platform Practice Better.

What’s a discovery call?

A discovery call is the first step for 1:1 clients! Discovery calls are so fun, and it gives us an opportunity to meet each other over the phone and see if we are a good fit to work together! When you book the call you will be prompted to fill out a form that will provide me with more information about you. Then when our call happens, I will call you and we will talk for 20-30 minutes about yourself, your goals, and what working with me would look like. This is completely free to you and also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about us working together!

How is a Registered Dietitian different from a nutritionist?

To become a Registered Dietitian (RD) one must receive a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from an accredited university, complete a 1200 hour supervised internship, pass a national credentialing exam, and complete continuing education to maintain that credential. As of 2024, receiving a MS degree will be an added requirement to become a RD. Registered Dietitian’s also must adhere to a strict code of ethics.

Nutritionist is an unprotected term requiring no formal training or education. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. Registered Dietitian is a protected title.
